28 September 2026 - Whether it's a trip across town or an everyday commute, Bluey and the transport app Citymapper are helping families make every journey easier and more playful in more than 40 cities across the United Kingdom, United States and Australia. The collaboration brings a range of Bluey-themed experiences to families on the move. Celebrating Bluey's hometown of Brisbane, Citymapper is also launching in the city for the first time, featuring bespoke Bluey and Citymapper co-branding that invites families to explore, discover and play.
Travellers can personalise their trips with custom Bluey navigation icons, discover Bluey video clips integrated into journey planning and access Bluey games and activities, via Bluey.tv, designed to keep little ones entertained along the way. The partnership also includes specially curated kid-friendly routes, helping families navigate cities more easily through features such as shorter walking times, step-free access and pram-friendly stations.
The launch comes as part of Play The Bluey Way, BBC Studios' global campaign encouraging families to embrace more play, connection and fun in everyday life. Inspired by the role play has always held at the heart of Bluey, the campaign spans real-world activations, digital experiences, creator partnerships, social content and collaborations designed to show families that play can be simple, achievable and accessible wherever they are in the world.
At the heart of the campaign is a series of play activations and vibrant murals inspired by iconic Bluey moments of play, appearing in locations including the Washington D.C. area, São Paulo, Bristol and Brisbane. Serving as colourful landmarks and the centrepiece of local family experiences, the activations have engaged fans around the world, with the Brisbane event at Wittonga Park this past weekend marking the final stop in the global activation series.
Aoife Owen, VP Global Brand and Marketing, Bluey at BBC Studios, said: "Play The Bluey Way is all about showing families that opportunities to play can be found in the everyday. By giving families access to child-friendly routes and built-in Bluey content, we hope we can make family journeys a little more playful."
David Frances, Vice President of Product at Citymapper, said: “Travelling with young children often turns even a simple trip into a major operation. We are delighted to partner with Bluey to make travel a more playful experience for families. Whether you are navigating your daily routine or looking for a way to keep little ones entertained on a long journey, we are thrilled to make urban transport easier, smoother, and a bit more fun for families.”
